About us
I am Mohammed Ismail Miah, Founder and Chief Executive of Ismail and Associates, a professional accounting, tax, VAT, audit, and corporate advisory firm based in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Over more than 23 years in accounting and finance, I have worked closely with businesses of every size, from growing SMEs to established corporate groups, helping them stay compliant, financially sound, and ready for what comes next. My work is built on a simple belief: good financial guidance should be accurate, honest, and genuinely useful. Whether I am preparing financial statements, structuring a tax position, reviewing VAT obligations, or advising on a corporate restructuring, I bring the same level of care and attention that I would want for my own business.
Professional Background
I hold Chartered Accountancy Course Completion under the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB), together with a B.Com Honours and M.Com in Accounting. I am a registered Income Tax Practitioner (ITP) in Bangladesh and a member of the Dhaka Tax Bar Association, and I have built my career around the practical realities of Bangladesh's tax, VAT, and corporate compliance environment. As Ismail and Associates has grown, I have also expanded into international taxation and advisory work. I hold a valid IRS Preparer Tax Identification Number (PTIN) for U.S. tax preparation, and I am developing HMRC Government Gateway and HMRC Agent credentials in the United Kingdom, so that the firm can support clients beyond Bangladesh's borders as well as within them.
WHAT I DO
1. Accounting and Reporting — Financial statement preparation, bookkeeping, and management reporting for businesses across sectors, with particular depth in the RMG and garment industry.2. Tax Advisory — Income tax planning, return preparation, and representation, drawing on my registration as an Income Tax Practitioner and membership of the Dhaka Tax Bar Association.• 3.VAT Compliance — VAT registration, return filing, and compliance advisory under Bangladesh's Mushak system, including guidance on Special VAT Regimes and BIN/VAT registration. • 4.Audit and Corporate Advisory — Support through audit engagements, RJSC compliance, corporate secretarial work, amalgamations, and broader business advisory needs. • 5. Financial Management — Budgeting, payroll, cash flow management, and financial analysis to help clients make informed, forward-looking decisions.
